Maurice Paleau has been promoted to the newly created position of VP, development and evaluation for Discovery Networks International. Paleau will help produce programming for both local and international audiences. He was promoted from his post as exec producer for Discovery Channel. Discovery Networks has promoted Steven Cheskin from VP, programming for TLC to senior VP and GM of Travel Channel. He will oversee program management, business development and operations

Australian doc channel Odyssey has promoted Henri de Gorter to GM, programming and admin. Previously manager of program planning, de Gorter replaces Jim Kosub, who left the channel in October
