The BBC’s Lorraine Heggessey has been promoted to Controller of BBC One. Paul Jackson, controller of entertainment, has left to join Granada Media Australia as managing director. He also takes the role of CEO of the TV production unit Red Heart, Granada’s shared venture with Seven Network

National Geographic Channel has named Mark Bauman senior producer of news. He will helm domestic news and National Geographic Today. Bauman reports to Mark Nelson, who was named VP and exec producer of news. Ricardo Green has been appointed managing director of Latin America and Spain for National Geographic Channel International

At Channel 4, Peter Dale was named head of docs and will helm independent film and video, and night-time. Sue Murphy is now commissioning editor of factual entertainment, and Janice Hadlow accepted the post of head of history, arts & religion. Karen Brown was promoted to managing director of 4Learning, but will continue to commission for science and education

TransAtlantic’s MD Justin Albert has joined Discovery Networks U.S. as VP of production, digital networks and advance TV.
