Television New Zealand is shaking things up in advance of a public broadcasting charter. Channels TV1 and TV2 will operate under one boss, with TV1 manager Shaun Brown heading up both channels. TV2 boss Stephen Smith moves to the online arm, NZoom, and will take charge of future digital channels. James Munro, TV New Zealand's digital strategy head, is leaving. Marketing manager Simon Dunlop's position will be phased out, and the marketing staff will be deployed to other departments. Network operations head Alan Brookbanks will be leaving and sales manager Jeff Latch has resigned. Chief executive Rick Ellis will leave before next June and more layoffs are expected.

Television New Zealand is shaking things up in advance of a public broadcasting charter. Channels TV1 and TV2 will operate under one boss, with TV1 manager Shaun Brown heading up both channels. TV2 boss Stephen Smith moves to the online arm, NZoom, and will take charge of future digital channels. James Munro, TV New Zealand’s digital strategy head, is leaving. Marketing manager Simon Dunlop‘s position will be phased out, and the marketing staff will be deployed to other departments. Network operations head Alan Brookbanks will be leaving and sales manager Jeff Latch has resigned. Chief executive Rick Ellis will leave before next June and more layoffs are expected.

Scripps Productions, the in-house production unit of Scripps Networks, has promoted Bob Baskerville to senior VP of production. Baskerville has been with U.S.-based Scripps Networks since 1994, and most recently served as senior VP of operations for Scripps Productions.

Annie Howell has been promoted to senior VP, communications, at Discovery Networks U.S. Howell was previously vice president, communications for Discovery U.S.’s 11 domestic networks. Over at Discovery International, Liz Healy has been named director of program communications.

A&E has appointed Stephen Badalamenti director of production. Meanwhile, Dan Lynch has been named director of merchandising and direct response for the company’s consumer products division.

U.S.-based E! Networks has nabbed Gavin Harvey for the post of senior VP of marketing and brand director. He replaces Stephen Croncota, who left to head up programming for E!’s Style. Harvey previously served as senior VP and brand director for iN Demand since 1999.

Joel Denton has been promoted to the newly created post of president, production and distribution for France’s Hallmark Entertainment Distribution. Denton was previously the executive vice president and managing director for Hallmark’s distribution division. In his new post, Denton will be responsible for all television productions, coproductions and acquisitions under Hallmark distribution.
