Sue Binford is resigning as executive VP of CNN News Group, effective next month. Prior to her move to CNN in 1998, Binford was executive VP of news, entertainment and sports public relations at TBS.

At U.S.-based Scripps Networks, Bob Baskerville has been promoted to senior VP, production, for Scripps Productions. He was formerly senior VP, operations. Meanwhile, Chuck Rosenzweig has been named VP, legal affairs, from his post as director, legal and business affairs.

Fran Barlow has taken the newly created post of commercial director for London-based Explore International. Barlow will be responsible for developing business opportunities and securing coproduction and pre-sale monies. She will also be involved in marketing and public relations for the company. Barlow previously served as festival director for the Guardian Edinburgh International Television Festival.

At the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Kaye Warren has been promoted to head of content sales/program sales worldwide, while James Cumming takes the spot of head of content sales/content licensing and library sales. Warren was manager of program sales at ABC and Cumming was formerly sales and marketing manager, media, for AAP Information Services. Meanwhile, Simon Kain has been appointed sales manager/library sales for ABC content sales.

Arlington, U.S.-based Henninger Media services has announced four new appointments. David Leonard is the new general manager, Henninger 1150 Post; Anthony Johnson has been named general manager, Henninger Arlington; Doug Minerd is general manager, Henninger Richmond; and Brian Kelly is general manager, Henninger Productions.

Alberta Nokes has been appointed to the post of director of independent production at Toronto-based VisionTV. Nokes is currently VP of communications for Vision.

Laura Teller has taken the post of senior VP of strategic partnerships in Discovery Communications Inc.‘s Discovery Consumer Products division.

AT&T‘s cable unit is shaking things up. With the retirement of chief exec Daniel E. Somers, three new executives are joining the fold. William T. Schleyer has been appointed chief executive of AT&T Broadband, while Ron Cooper is chief operating officer and David M. Fellows is chief technology officer.

Paramount Pay TV‘s Reed Manville has been promoted to executive VP, international channels. Manville was previously senior VP, international channels at Par Pay TV.

Goodlife TV Network of the U.S. has hired Larry Meli as its president and chief operating officer. Meli replaces Squire Rushnell, who has become an author and motivational speaker.

TechTV has named Michael Propper sales executive of TechTV International. He will oversee programming sales throughout Europe and Latin America.

Peter Miller has taken the newly created post of VP, planning and regulatory affairs, for Toronto-based CHUM Television. Miller will be the key advisor for growth opportunities at CHUM. He joined the company three years ago as VP, business and regulatory affairs.
