Tom Archer heads to the Beeb from Granada; Connie Chung joins CNN.

Tom Archer, factual controller for Granada, is leaving to join the BBC. Archer will become the new head of programs for the general factual group in Bristol. Doc-maker Paul Watson, who worked under Archer, is also leaving Granada, but is reportedly taking the freelance route.

Connie Chung will become CNN‘s newest anchor. She will anchor an hour-long weekday program beginning at 8 p.m. expected to launch in the spring. Chung was previously co-anchor and correspondent on the ABC News primetime show 20/20.

Paola Freccero has been appointed senior VP of film programming for the Sundance Channel, while Kirk Iwanowski was named senior VP of marketing.

Liam Hamilton is returning to ITV to oversee daytime programming. He replaces Maureen Duffy who quit last week. Hamilton returns to ITV after a brief stint as COO of the music website
