Discovery Networks Europe has appointed former 13eme RUE marketing and communications director Sebastien Meyssan as country manager, France.

Australia’s Film Finance Corporation has formed a pilot Documentary Filmmaker Innovation Fund to let doc-makers create programs that step outside the ffc’s market requirements. Doc-maker Mark Lewis is a consultant to the fund.

Canadian pubcaster CBC has announced Richard Stursberg as executive VP, English television, effective October 1. Stursberg was most recently executive director of Telefilm Canada.

London’s Darlow Smithson Productions has named Alison Turner an EP, beefing up the indie’s senior editorial team. Turner comes from RDF.

CBS welcomes Chris Sloan as VP of alternative and reality. Sloan was most recently VP of production at Discovery’s TLC.

Lion Television has appointed former BBC Scotland head of production Colin Cameron as MD of Lion Scotland.

ABC Australia has hired Denise Eriksen as head of general factual and Stuart Menzies as head of docs. Also added to the team is Sonya Pemberton as head of specialist factual.

TVNZ brings on Jane Wilson as senior commissioner for popular factual at TVNZ’s TV One. She was formerly deputy editor of UKTV’s UK Horizons.

In New York, THINKFilm has promoted Daniel Katz to the post of VP of acquisitions.

Victoria Real, Endemol UK’s iTV division, has bid goodbye to Jason George, who joined Victoria Real a decade ago. George’s role will be divided between Endemol UK head of interactive Peter Cowley and Miles Welch, who is director of operations.
