Discovery Networks International has appointed Jill Offman senior VP and channel director for Discovery Channel U.K. Offman goes to the U.K. from Canada’s Discovery Channel, where she was VP of programming and production.

Thirteen/WNET New York has appointed Jared Lipworth executive producer of science programs. Prior to this, Lipworth was series producer for Thirteen’s technology series, Innovation.

Animal Planet has hired David Doyle as its new VP of production and development for Animal Planet U.S. Most recently, Doyle spent five years with Amersand Media in L.A.

Scripps Networks has announced the promotion of Kristen Jordan to senior VP of international development. Anna Alvord has been appointed director of international development.

ABC New Media and Digital Services has appointed staff to ABC2, its new digital channel to be launched in March 2005. Peter Sachs will be programmer/scheduler and Carol Saab will be scheduling/marketing officer.

Australia’s World Wide Entertainment has added five new members to its team. Alex Farias becomes international business manager in South America; Sam Thompson is international sales executive in the Middle East; Michelle Gauld is international sales executive in Asia Pacific; Glenn Jones takes on marketing and public relations; and Marilyn Higgins is head of creative.

Discovery Networks Asia has welcomed Laura Glassman as director of programming for its three lifestyle networks. With over 10 years of experience, Glassman will oversee the development and sourcing of all programming and programming elements.
