In 2007, FremantleMedia’s in-house production companies were responsible for over 10,000 hours of programming. Granted, a good chunk of that number is drama, comedy and telenovelas, but a significant slice is factual entertainment, formats and documentary fare. In fact, while the Idols, X Factors and Got Talents have become international brands, even comparatively obscure format ideas like The Farmer Wants a Wife have managed to catch on.

And that production success has spread evenly across the company’s divisions, with Fremantle North America contributing shows such as The Next Great American Band and American Inventor. In Germany, Fremantle UFA has also created a significant domestic market for itself.

But it’s not all singing and on-stage gyrations with this lot. Fremantle can also do factual well, like the popular How Clean is Your House.
