White Pine Pictures receives 13 Gemini nominations

Toronto-based prodco White Pine Pictures has garnered 13 nominations at this year's annual Gemini Awards, which celebrate excellence amongst Canada's English-language television productions. Of those 13 nominations, three were for A Promise to the Dead: The Exile Journey of Ariel Dorfman (which also made the most recent Oscar shortlist). The feature doc follows the story of playwright/author/activist Ariel Dorfman. White Pine is helmed by filmmaker Peter Raymont, and the company has produced over 100 films, including Shake Hands With The Devil: The Journey of Romeo Dallaire.
