International indie TV producer and distributor Off the Fence has named Allison Bean as its MD of the UK development and production office in Bristol. Bean is currently head of development of the OTF Bristol office. Her duties include overseeing the entire UK operations management, as well as the company’s global development team.

Bean says the need for someone officially in charge was the natural result of the sudden expansion of the Bristol office. ‘When I first started working in this office it was just me and it was just a development office and then as things began to be commissioned. We had to bring more people in. We had to bring edit suites in and we had to evolve an infrastructure,’ she says. ‘So I guess the natural progression was to move officially to me heading up a development office that [had] evolved into a production office, with structure and a process to it.’

As for Bean’s expectations for her new formal title, she anticipates more of the same. ‘My hopes are that we will get lots of work and continue a reputation for high-quality production.’
