While Star Trek has spawned legions of Trekkies (screw you, Trekkers) and The Lord of the Rings has created a bonanza of Bombadils, Harry Potter has created something uniquely different.

While Star Trek has spawned legions of Trekkies (screw you, Trekkers) and The Lord of the Rings has created a bonanza of Bombadils, Harry Potter has created something uniquely different.
We are Wizards tells the story of bands such as Harry and the Potters, Draco and the Malfoys, The Hungarian Horntails (7- and 4-year-old brothers) and The Whomping Willow – bands that have gained a following playing ‘wizard rock.’ In fact, J.K. Rowlings’ books are a huge phenomenon that have created an entire artistic sub-culture which, in turn, has created a legal backlash from the rights holders. It’s a case of fans so potty for Potter that they’re willing to risk the penalties to play.
Really, what more is to be said? Every generation is ensnared by its own literature, and this one belongs to the young wizard of Hogwarts. Don’t miss this opportunity to peek into an entire world you never knew existed. Partners: Brooklyn Underground Films, distributed by APT Worldwide (Boston)
Wrapping: 2008
Length: 52 minutes and 80 minutes
Rights available: Worldwide broadcast, DVD, educational, non-theatrical
