Kayak journey to air on BBC2

The sad story of Andrew McAuley, Solitary Endeavour on the Southern Ocean, will air on BBC2 this weekend. The footage filmed by McAuley during his attempt to be the first person to kayak from Australia to New Zealand was found, although his body was not, after he disappeared one day away from completing his quest. Interviews with his wife are included in the one-hour doc from Essential Media & Entertainment, in association with the BBC, ABC, National Geographic Channel and ITVS. The doc airs on February 22.
