MIPTV Picks 2009

Realscreen's picks for must-see at MIPTV
March 1, 2009

‘Tis that time of year again… the time when we unveil this year’s assortment of the projects we think you’ll want to take a closer look at while making the rounds in Cannes for MIPTV.

Once again, we received a huge volume of clips uploaded to us from around the world, and once again the jury of reviewers found many worth celebrating. Using our patented W.O.E. index, we judged the projects in terms of watchability, originality and execution (get it?). While, as you’ll see in the pages to come, there was a bit of a dearth in terms of arts & culture submissions, the science & nature and political/social/religious categories certainly held their own in terms of providing us with thought-provoking, challenging and entertaining fare. Plus, we got a few giggles out of some of the factual submissions.

So without further ado, the picks for this year, with a special nod (and a pair of passes to the Realscreen Summit 2010) going to our Best in Show… drum roll please…
