Canwest extends deadline on E! sales

Canwest Global Communications has extended the deadline on the sales of its five E! stations, which was originally set for March 30. The company is now giving the stations until the end of the summer to be sold or shut down. Interim president of Canwest Broadcasting, Peter Viner, said in an internal memo to employees that the sale process has generated some interest in the stations, but it's too soon to say if the interest will result in sales.
