Prepping for the Real Deal

If you are looking for a sure-fire way to meet some of the most influential producers and broadcasters in the factual space, I’d recommend producing an event.

It’s amazing to me that only three months ago we turned our minds to producing an event for the reality TV community on the U.S. West Coast. After February’s Realscreen Summit we identified there was an appetite for an event that focused on this burgeoning genre. Seems that we were right, as response to May’s Factual Entertainment Forum: The Real Deal has been validating, to say the least. What started as a half-day workshop blossomed into a jam-packed day of panels featuring the crème de la crème of hitmakers in the reality space.

A great big shout out to all of the speakers, sponsors and delegates who contributed to this inaugural Californian event and be sure to keep watching this space for details on the second annual!

We’re also in the throes of assembling the advisory panel for Realscreen Summit 2010. At press time Chris Coelen, CEO, RDF Media USA and Lance Klein, partner at L.A.’s Endeavor agency had already committed to join chair Nancy Dubuc, EVP & GM, History. Their mandate is to work with Barry Walsh and I to create the most inspiring and memorable Summit yet. In the meantime, if you have any ideas for content you’d like us to explore, please feel free to e-mail them to me directly at cmacdonald@brunico.com.

‘Til next time, go well
