HBO Documentary acquires convict cowgirls doc

HBO Documentary Films has acquired the documentary Sweethearts of the Prison Rodeo following its well-received world premiere at SXSW. The film follows convict cowgirls at the 2007 Oklahoma State Penitentiary Rodeo, which is described as 'part Wild West show and part Coliseum-esque spectacle.' It will have a broadcast premiere on HBO's Cinemax in September.
