FremantleMedia appoints head of Northern and Southern Europe

FremantleMedia announces the appointment of Monica Galer as head of Northern and Southern Europe for FremantleMedia. The role is newly created and will see Galer overseeing six territories for the prodco and creator of entertainment brands.The creation of this new role will see Fremantle's territory heads for Belgium, France, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal and Spain reporting directly to Galer. Before joining FremantleMedia in April 2002, Galer previously worked for Endemol and RTL among others, and has a deep background in the world of international television. As part of this ongoing reorganization, Galer will leave her positions as managing director of Blue Circle in the Netherlands and CEO of FremantleMedia France. However, she will continue to oversee these businesses until new heads are appointed. Simon Spalding, regional CEO, Europe and Asia-Pacific, has also announced that, as part of the reorganization, he will be seeking out a CEO for FremantleMedia in Spain.
