‘Newsweek’ calls for release of doc filmmaker Maziar Bahari

NEWSWEEK reporter and documentary filmmaker Maziar Bahari was one of the dozens of people arrested in Tehran overnight on June 21. The magazine reports that he is being detained without charge. The dual Canadian-Iranian citizen has covered Iran for the magazine for over a decade and he was the subject of a 2007 retrospective by IDFA for his documentary work.
