Animal Planet has just launched an online community for pets and their owners. The site, entitled The Spot, promises to give owners an opportunity to get their pets on TV while offering them a place to show off their furry friends and connect with other pet owners. Featured sections on the site include The Casting Couch, where users can look for casting opportunities for their pet; Pet Pin-up, where proud owners post their cute pictures for a chance to have their pet host the Saturday night pet programming lineup on the channel, and The Daily Treat, where pet expert Janet McCulley blogs about pet trends.
