In honor of the 70th anniversary of the Second World War, ITN Source has digitized rare footage from newsreels that offer perspectives of the war from Britain, Germany and America. Key events and reports that have been digitized by ITN Source include the Deutsche Wochenschau newsreel produced by the Nazis which includes a story reporting the apparent French surrender in the railway carriage; a Gaumont British story showing Charles De Gaulle rejecting France’s surrender to Germany; the invasion of Poland; the attack on Pearl Harbor and the Dunkirk evacuation. All the newly digitized footage has been added to ITN Source’s New Classics collection. For information visit ITN Source’s WWII site.
