Ed Hersh joins Investigation Discovery

Investigation Discovery's president and GM, Henry Schleiff, who started at ID on August 1, today announced that veteran cable exec Ed Hersh will be joining the ID team. Hersh has been appointed to the newly created position of SVP strategic planning for ID and will be based in Discovery Communications' New York office. He previously spent seven years working at Court TV, most recently as executive VP current programming and specials, where he oversaw production on programs such as Privilege and Justice and Forensic Files, and was VP documentary programming for A&E prior to that. Most recently Hersh was chief creative officer of StoryCentric LLC which provided executive-level consultation for both producers and networks. In his new role at ID Hersh will be a resource for the programming, production and development teams, will collaborate with ad sales and distribution teams to create new production models and content vehicles and will work with Schleiff to evolve the ID brand.
