HBO reairs ‘The Gates’ after Jeanne-Claude dies

Artist Jeanne-Claude, who worked on a number of memorable art projects with husband Christo, passed away on November 18 from complications of a ruptured brain aneurysm and HBO is honoring her with an encore presentation of The Gates. The documentary, directed by Albert Maysles and Antonio Ferrera, followed the artists as they erected New York City's largest public art installation. The installation led to miles of orange fabric wrapping Central Park's pathways and was titled 'The Gates, Central Park, New York, 1979-2005,' to signify the length of time it took to get the city to approve the project. The Gates will air on HBO on December 9.
