1. I have a doctorate in sleep research for my sins; I watched people sleep for five years in sleep labs. Knowing what causes people to doze off is proving useful in my current role.

2. I confess to being an Apple Mac geek: totally allergic to P (yuk) C’s. In my first TV job, I ‘demanded’ a Mac – and got it. Pretty cocky upon reflection.

3. I’m the only one in my large family not involved in the jewelery business. And also the poorest.
