BBC Worldwide Channels team growing

BBC Worldwide Channels Asia has appointed Otto Leong to the role of director, distribution and business development. Based in Hong Kong, Leong will be part of the pan-regional team responsible for the distribution of BBC Entertainment, BBC Knowledge, BBC Lifestyle, CBeebies and BBC World News in Taiwan and China. He will also be tasked with driving revenue growth and developing strategic distribution initiatives for the two North Asian territories. Leong will report to Mark Whitehead, SVP and GM of BBC Worldwide Channels Asia.

BBC Worldwide Channels Asia has appointed Otto Leong to the role of director, distribution and business development. Based in Hong Kong, Leong will be part of the pan-regional team responsible for the distribution of BBC Entertainment, BBC Knowledge, BBC Lifestyle, CBeebies and BBC World News in Taiwan and China. He will also be tasked with driving revenue growth and developing strategic distribution initiatives for the two North Asian territories. Leong will report to Mark Whitehead, SVP and GM of BBC Worldwide Channels Asia.

In other appointment news, John Taite has been promoted to the role of VP programming, EMEA. Taite, formerly director of programming, will have editorial control for all BBC-branded channels across EMEA. He will continue to report to Dean Possenniskie, BBC Worldwide Channels’ SVP& GM for EMEA, and David Weiland, SVP Programming and TV Channels. As well, BBC Worldwide has created three new heads of scheduling roles in Poland, Africa and the Nordic region, which will be filled in the upcoming months.
