For the first time, Realscreen Summit will be welcoming official delegations. This year, two delegations will be in attendance of the event, from the UK and Brazil. South West Screen and ABPI-TV (Brazilian Association of Independent Television Producers) will give their delegates the opportunity to meet international companies, and to strike up partnerships and coproductions.
Select Brazilian producers will take part in a Brazilian pitching showcase presented by ABPI-TV, separate from So You Think You Can Pitch, on February 3 at the Summit. The showcase will feature the top five competitors from an earlier pitching competition at the PIC DOC conference, held in Rio de Janeiro last December. The pitchers are Krishna Mahon from Mixer (Brazilian Hooligans: In the Name of Soccer), Juliano Enrico Teixeira from Animassauro (Brown Bull II: The Revenge), Luciana Freitas from Modo Operante Productions (Positives), Marcos Negrao from Enigma Filmes (The Broken Moon) and Luis Antonio Silveira from Conspiracao Filmes (Zootropolis). They will be judged by Kristina Hollstein, director of coproductions and development/documentaries for ZDF Enterprises GmbH; Diane Rankin, head of acquisitions at Cineflix International Distribution and Allison Winshel, senior director of primetime programming at PBS.
Besides those pitching, producers from Brasileira Filmes, Lente Viva Filmes, Panorâmica Comunicação, Prodigo Films, Segunda-Feira Filmes and Brazilian TV Producers Association will be in attendance from the Brazilian delegation.
The UK delegation includes producers from Sabana Films, Touch Productions, Mallinson Sadler Productions, Testimony Films, Icon Films, Halo Films Ltd, 422 South, Glasshead Ltd, Moondance UK, Aqua Vita Films and WL:Docs.
