‘Tis that time of year again…the time for creators, producers, writers and directors working in the documentary, factual and non-fiction fields to submit their projects for consideration for the MIPDoc Co-production Challenge.
The 6th Annual Co-Production Challenge, presented by ReedMIDEM and realscreen, seeks original projects in the factual genre with the best potential for development across TV, the Internet and all other media.
Semi-finalists will be selected from submissions worldwide and given the opportunity to present their final pitches live at MIPDoc to an A-list jury of broadcasters and commissioners, before an audience of accredited buyers, producers and distributors.
Last year’s jury consisted of jury chair Maryanne Culpepper, EVP editorial and new business development for National Geographic Television; Caroline Behar, head of acquisitions and international coproductions at France 5; Takahiro Hamano, producer/director satellite broadcasting department at NHK; Tabitha Jackson, editor, More 4 at Channel 4 Television and Michele Schofield, director, content, program acquisitions and productions for AETN All Asia Networks.
This year, the Challenge is looking for original non-fiction programming concepts to engage audiences across any platform, including TV, the Internet, mobile, games and all emerging media. The jury will be looking for innovative approaches to storytelling, production and distribution, with a focus on concept, uniqueness, distribution, inventiveness, and individual ingredients such as vision, passion, drive and inspiration.
But besides the prestige of winning the Challenge, there are also prizes! The winner of the competition will receive: free entry to MIPDoc 2011, free submission of their winning programme to the MIPDoc 2011 Digital Library, a 1-year subscription to realscreen, editorial coverage during MIPDoc 2010 and in realscreen‘s post-show issue and a one-on-one meeting with a jury member during MIPDoc 2010.
Interested? Then you’d better act fast. The deadline for entries is March 2, 2010. For more information, click here or contact the Co-Production Challenge via email@example.com. Bonne chance!
