With MIPTV approaching, realscreen is once again going to feature a number of ‘can’t miss’ projects going to the market this April. To make sure we receive as many of your projects as possible for consideration, we’re extending the deadline for submissions to our March/April issue’s MIPTV Picks feature. The new deadline is Friday, Feb. 19, 2010.
Here are more details about our MIPTV Picks feature. We are accepting online clip submissions in six categories:
· Factual Entertainment
· Music, Arts & Culture
· Political, Social & Religious
· Science & Nature
Upload your new clips (5 to 8 minutes is common), and our editorial panel will select the best of the submissions to feature in our upcoming March/April issue and on realscreen.com.
BUT, BEST OF ALL, the clip the panel ranks highest will be named Best in Show, and the submitter will win a free pass to the Realscreen Summit in 2011!
Certain rules apply:
i) Clips must be submitted through the realscreen site (www.realscreen.com/upload/ – to the attention of Barry Walsh) on or before Friday, February 19, 2010. In the ‘Instructions’ box, please include some background on the project, and please specify that the clip is being submitted for consideration for MIPTV Picks ’10. (Ignore the ‘Advertiser’ box.);
ii) Clips must be from new projects coming to MIP for the first time in filmed form (projects previously pitched are acceptable, providing filming had not wrapped previous to MIPCOM 2009);
iii) Up to 3 clips may be submitted from any one production company;
iv) Format suggestions: video compression format H.264 is the recommended compression format (preferably QuickTimes or WMVs). Any other format will be compressed again, resulting in degradation of the video. Frame Rate: max 30fps. Bitrate: 800kbits/sec. Quality: Best. Size: Maximum width 360px, regardless of aspect ratio
Audio format: AAC. Channels: Stereo or Mono. Rate: 44.1Khz
Prepare for Internet Streaming: Fast Start, or Fast Start – Compressed Header
As a guideline, this should produce videos that are less than 5MB per 30 seconds. Please do not upload files which exceed that guideline.;
v) The pass to the Realscreen Summit 2011 (February 1 – 3, 2011) does not include transportation or accommodation and is non-transferable. Passes have no cash value.
Thanks, and we look forward to seeing your work!
