Paris-based global entertainment company Banijay is launching a global distribution division, Banijay International, distributing formats and finished programs from the Banijay group of production companies worldwide and from Nordisk Film TV World.

The distribution arm will be headed by Karoline Spodsberg, most recently international director at Nordisk Film TV World. The new division will operate out of Copenhagen and Paris, to be staffed by current staffers from Nordisk Film TV World and Banijay Entertainment’s distrib team.

‘[Karoline] brings to the table a unique set of valuable skills, having built a thriving international business from a standing start at Nordisk TV World,’ says Fran├žois de Brugada, executive vice president creative and commercial affairs at Banijay Entertainment. ‘As we continue to expand our portfolio, fulfilling our ambition to become a leader in the world’s media markets, it is imperative that we optimize the value of our international brands.’

‘We can now harness the combined creativity, market knowledge and business values of the whole group to build a company with great vision and conviction,’ says Spodsberg. ‘We have the bespoke approach of a boutique distributor with the muscle of a large, cost effective group structure behind us.’

Prior to her time at Nordisk Film TV World, Spodsberg was head of programming at Denmark’s TV3 and had worked with MTV Production.
