RTL Germany has commissioned Granada Germany, part of ITV Studios, to produce a third season of the BBC Worldwide entertainment format Let’s Dance, based on the series Strictly Come Dancing. The first two seasons of the series, which aired in 2006 and 2007, reached an average 20% share amongst all viewers… Marco Ferrari has been named group-wide chief digital officer for Zodiak Entertainment. He’s tasked with the development and execution of group-wide digital strategy, and assessing the potential of new and existing Zodiak brands in the digital space. He will also continue to lead Neo Network, Zodiak Entertainment’s main digital arm… Media Entertainment Group (MEG) is bringing two new formats from U.S. content creators to MIPTV. They include Camping with the In-Laws, created by Clay Newbill at 310 Entertainment (The Mole) and Spike Jones, Jr. at SJ2 Entertainment, and Second Chance Makeover, produced originally as an online vehicle by Gary Gershaw at Classified Creative. The former is a comedy reality series billed as ‘a mix of the soap opera of Wife Swap, with the physical humor of Wipeout, and the angst of Meet the Fockers,’ while the latter sees homeless individuals taken off the streets to have their lives changed all through donations… Stockholm-based Sparks Network is bringing an assortment of formats to MIPTV. They include Tourist Guides, a series that documents the everyday life of tour guides and their guests at a popular vacation resort; food competition series Country Women Cooking; Swedish comedy reality series How to Become a Millionaire, which gives two comedians € 5,000 in start-up funds to create their own companies; Tribute Stars, which pits tribute bands against each other in a competition series; travel series Favorite Getaways and ice dancing competition Battle of the Blades… send your format news to email@example.com.
