The nominations for the 30th Annual Genie Awards have been announced. Among the titles vying for the best documentary Genie are: A Hard Name (director: Alan Zweig; producers: Kristina McLaughlin, Michael McMahon); Inside Hana’s Suitcase (director: Larry Weinstein; producers: Rudolf Biermann, Jessica Daniel); Les dames en bleu or Ladies in Blue (director/producer: Claude Demers); Prom Night in Mississippi (director: Paul Saltzman; producer: Patricia Aquino) and RiP: A Remix Manifesto (director: Brett Gaylor; producers: Mila Aung-Thwin, Kat Baulu, Germaine Ying-Gee Wong). Nominations for the best short documentary include: Passages (director/producer: Marie-Josée Saint-Pierre); Petropolis: Aerial Perspectives on the Alberta Tar Sands (director: Peter Mettler; producers: Sandy Hunter, Laura Severinac) and The Delian Mode (director/producer: Kara Blake; producer: Marie-Josée Saint-Pierre). The Genies take place April 12, 2010 in Toronto.
