With two new chief executives on board at RDF USA – CEO Grant Mansfield (pictured) and CCO Natalka Znak – the company has announced a restructuring for its LA headquarters, geared towards becoming even more of a ‘one-stop shop’ for content creation and production.
The new structure sees Claire O’Donohoe named as executive vice president of current, reporting to Znak. She’ll oversee RDF USA’s current slate of programming, including such properties as ABC’s Secret Millionaire and VH1′s Jessica Simpson: the Price of Beauty. Prior to RDF, O’Donohoe worked as a freelance producer on such hits as Big Brother, Celebrity Big Brother and Hell’s Kitchen.
Mike Duffy, formerly senior vice president of development, is now upped to executive VP of development, and will be tasked with overseeing all development for RDF USA, creating original unscripted properties and developing unscripted international formats for the domestic market. He will also be reporting to Znak. Recently, Duffy created and exec produced One Big Happy Family.
‘This new structure is evidence of a renewed focus and increased investment in the creative side of our production business,’ said Grant Mansfield. ‘With Natalka at the helm and Claire and Mike by her side, we’re aiming to establish a one-stop shop where we create, develop and produce all our shows in-house.’
Mansfield, formerly the London-based group director of factual, entertainment and comedy, came to Los Angeles earlier this year and took the CEO post, following the departure of Chris Coelen. Znak was the controller of factual entertainment at ITV Studios prior to being nabbed by RDF, having co-created and exec produced such ITV1 staples as I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and Hell’s Kitchen.
Of course, the biggest change for RDF this year may still be on the way, with murmurs that the purchase of RDF Media by Paris-based Zodiak Entertainment could happen within a couple of months. The combined entity would stand as the third-largest global production company, behind Endemol and FremantleMedia.
