Discovery introduces new formats strategy

Discovery Communications is moving into the format arena as it heads to MIPTV bringing a new slate of formats. 'Formats are becoming increasingly more popular in the industry as they provide a cost-effective solution to third parties,' says Nicolas Bonard, senior vice president, Discovery Enterprises International. 'They enable producers to invest as much - or as little - into the production as long as it holds true to the format requirements.' Discovery will bring a collection of formats to MIPTV from across its channels and genres including Man vs. Wild; Catch It, Keep It; Groomer Has It; Battle of the Wedding Planners and American Chopper.
