Asian Side of the Doc has concluded its first event and reports that it was a success. Achieving its goal to build a bridge between Asian and European professionals, the event welcomed 240 participants and 24 Europeans representing 15 public television channels in Hong Kong. Twenty-four projects were pitched and some received commitments from European and Asian broadcasters already. ASD was organized as part of FILMART, one of the main Asian Cinema/Audiovisual fairs. Backed by MEDIA International, the CNC, ARTE, VODEO, the NFB and HKTDC, MEHK, LIC, MEDILAN and BANG Productions, next year’s Asian Side of the Doc will be held in either Seoul or Singapore.
