HBO to air Alex Gibney’s ‘My Trip to Al Qaeda’

HBO Documentary Films has announced the acquisition of domestic TV rights to My Trip to Al Qaeda. The feature-length documentary directed by Academy Award winner Alex Gibney is part documentary and part performance performance piece, based on the writings of Pulitzer-Prize winning author and journalist Lawrence Wright. Th one-man play is based on Wright's 2006 best-selling book The Looming Tower: Al-Qaeda and the Road to 9/11. The doc will debut on HBO in fall 2010 and is a 2010 Tribeca Film Festival selection.
