Tricon brings Rutherford to its distribution team

Jon Rutherford, most recently director of sales and acquisitions for Portfolio Entertainment, has been appointed VP, international sales and acquisitions, for Tricon Films and Television in Toronto. Working with Carrie Mudd, SVP, Development & International Sales, Andrea Gorfolova, President and Lia Dolente, Manager, International Sales & Publicity, Rutherford will be responsible for all aspects of sales of Tricon’s factual and scripted catalogs, with a long-term goal of concentrating on building Tricon’s kids division. With Mudd, Rutherford will concentrate on worldwide television and home video sales, in addition to building digital, new media, merchandising and licensing strategies for all titles. Rutherford had been with Toronto-based Portfolio since 2004 and during his time as head of its distribution division, he increased sales an estimated 100%.
