Chicago-based non-profit indie prodco Kartemquin Films has appointed Emerging Pictures managing partner Ira Deutchman to its board of directors.

Chicago-based non-profit indie prodco Kartemquin Films has appointed Emerging Pictures managing partner Ira Deutchman to its board of directors. Deutchman, founder of Cinecom and Fine Line Features, first worked with Kartemquin on its most commercially successful film, the widely-acclaimed Hoop Dreams. For this year, Kartemquin has a record number of projects in production, ranging from new films to early works making their way to DVD for the first time.
