BBC Worldwide Channels has appointed Jon Farrar, most recently programming director for Universal Networks International in the UK and Northern Europe, to the role of VP programming, EMEA.

BBC Worldwide Channels has appointed Jon Farrar, most recently programming director for Universal Networks International in the UK and Northern Europe, to the role of VP programming, EMEA. Farrar will take up the new post on August 2 and will initially report to Dean Possenniskie, currently SVP and GM BBC Worldwide Channels EMEA. Possenniskie, recently named managing director, Europe for AETN, will be taking his new post towards the second half of the year; from that point, Farrar will report to Possenniskie’s replacement. In his new role, Farrar will oversee the editorial direction of BBC Worldwide’s network of localised channels in EMEA, maintaining and building on the performance of existing channels, and working with its Commercial Development team on new channel launches.
