Mike Darnell, president of alternative programming at Fox, has renewed his contract at the net for another three years. First reported on New York Magazine’s Vulture blog, the news breaks weeks before the launch of a new Fox cooking competition featuring Gordon Ramsay, the American version of international smash MasterChef. Darnell has been with the net since 1994, and currently oversees its biggest unscripted hits, American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance. He’ll also be behind Simon Cowell’s new talent series for Fox, The X-Factor, coming to the U.S. in 2011.
