Skywriter Media and Entertainment Group and Summerhill Entertainment, both based in Toronto, have entered into a strategic alliance through which Skywriter will acquire worldwide distribution rights for the Summerhill catalog, which includes factual entertainment titles such as Diva on a Dime and Pretty Dangerous. Skywriter and Summerhill will also co-distribute future Summerhill content. ‘We both have great stories in our respective genres – now we can offer content users a one-stop shop,’ said Skywriter CEO Kevin Gillis of the deal. Skywriter, devoted to creating, developing, acquiring and distributing children’s and family entertainment, was launched by former Breakthrough Entertainment exec Gillis, Michael McLaughlin (Skywriter president) and Michael Iscove (COO/CFO).
