Cineflix Productions is bringing Instant Cash, a new quiz show featuring a talking ATM machine, to Canadian specialty net TVtropolis. In what the prodco is calling a ‘guerilla game show,’ unsuspecting bank machine users will become contestants when they happen upon the incognito ATM used in the show and attempt to withdraw money. From there, they will be asked by the ATM to answer quiz questions and undertake challenges. ‘Instant Cash is a unique and noisy format that combines elements of hidden camera, quiz show and stunt TV,’ said Cineflix CEO of programming Simon Lloyd. ‘It has all the ingredients to make a successful global format: it’s scalable, affordable and can be adapted to any territory. We are already in talks with broadcasters in numerous territories about rolling out the show worldwide.’ Lloyd also says the game show is ‘is the first of many formatted entertainment shows that Cineflix will be bringing to market in the coming months.’ Cineflix is due to begin production for the show immediately, with Guy Freeman exec producing. Cineflix International will handle worldwide distribution for the series.
