‘Cane Toads’ doc to screen at 10th annual Documentary Campus

Aussie director Mark Lewis’ Sundance favorite Cane Toads – The Conquest will make its European premiere at a private screening during Documentary Campus in Munich on Friday, September 10. The 3D doc chronicles the devastation more than 1.5 billion imported toads have wreaked on the northeastern Australian state of Queensland, and has been dubbed ‘Avatoad’ by critics. Event organizers also revealed that Steve Hewlett, host of BBC Radio 4′s The Media Show, will host the Future of Media panel alongside speakers Alex Connock, chief executive of UK production company Ten Alps, and Andreas Briese, strategic partner development manager of YouTube/Google in Germany. Dr. Jo Groebel, director of the German Digital Institute in Berlin and media policy advisor to German Chancellor Angela Merkel, will also discuss the future of media in a keynote address.
