Slaveship Mutiny, a one-hour doc for Thirteen, will be produced by Off The Fence Productions, in association with ARTE France, WNET.ORG and DTI South Africa. The commissioned HD film focuses on the final voyage of the Meermin, an 18th century slave ship, and tells its story of the 147 slaves overpowering the Dutch crew via historical records, CGI recreations and dramatic re-enactments. The Meermin shipwrecked on South African sandbanks, where it remains today. Off The Fence will also be distributing the doc at markets worldwide and will launch the film at MIPCOM.
