Networks across North America to air cancer telethon live, commercial-free

The one-hour TV fundraiser Stand Up to Cancer taking place on September 10 will be carried live and commercial-free on 17 networks in the U.S., including the 'Big Four' broadcast nets, and three broadcasters in Canada.

The one-hour TV fundraiser Stand Up to Cancer taking place on September 10 will be carried live and commercial-free on 17 networks in the U.S., including the ‘Big Four’ broadcast nets, and three broadcasters in Canada. American networks that have signed on to carry the telecast include ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, Bio, Current TV, Discovery Health, E!, G4, HBO, HBO Latino, MLB Network, mun2, Showtime, Smithsonian Channel, The Style Network, TV One and VH1. In Canada, CityTV, CTV and Global will simulcast the special, without commercial interruption. The 2008 edition of the telethon raised US$100 million for cancer research.
