IFC Films will be taking on U.S. distribution for Werner Herzog’s new 3D documentary, Cave of Forgotten Dreams. The deal was struck shortly after the film’s premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this week. Cave takes viewers deep into the recesses of the Chauvet Cave in France, where the earliest recorded cave paintings exist. The film is produced by Creative Differences in partnership with History’s new film unit, History Films, for the French Ministry of Culture and Communication and is co-produced by ARTE France and Channel 4′s More 4. Look for more on the film, including an interview with Werner Herzog, in the September/October issue of realscreen.
