Stephen Ujlaki, producer and former development exec at HBO, writes how documentaries have taught him about people and things he wouldn’t have known about, and serve as a tool for social change as well. He has also found, as dean of Loyola Marymount’s School of Film and Television, that documentaries are perfect for young film students to hone their craft.
