Journalist/author Laura Ling, most recently with Current TV, has signed on to E!’s investigative doc series E! Investigates. The first Ling-hosted episodes of the series, airing on December 8 and 15, will cover the rise of teen suicides in the U.S. and also probe the lives of military wives. Ling, formerly the VP of Current TV’s journalism department, made headlines in March of 2009 when she and colleague Euna Lee were detained and held captive by North Korean soldiers for 140 days while prepping a report on the trafficking of North Korean women.
