eOne has named Michael Kot as the new senior vice president of factual entertainment in the company’s television division. Reporting to eOne TV topper Laszlo Barna, Kot will be responsible for all original factual programming.
Previously, Kot served as VP of original factual content for Canwest channels including Global Television, History Television, Mystery, National Geographic Canada and IFC. He was also responsible for overseeing programming, acquisitions and the general operations of BBC Canada.
eOne already boasts an extensive factual slate, including Force of Nature: The David Suzuki Movie, which won the People’s Choice Documentary Award at TIFF last month. Steven Silver, former SVP of factual programming for eOne, announced his departure from the company last month to form his own production shingle, Blue Ice Films.
