Two filmmakers, Alex Jablonski (Blue Boy) and cinematographer Michael Totten, have completed the ambitious task they gave themselves in 2009: to create one short documentary a month for the entire year. The ensuing project, ‘Sparrow Songs,’ tells 12 stories about Southern California residents, from porn stars singing karaoke to a family-run traveling circus.

Barry Walsh is editor and content director for realscreen, and has served as editor of the publication since 2009.
