Organizers of the Rose d’Or television festival have announced that the event will not be taking place next year, but will return to a springtime slot in 2012. The 51st edition of the festival will take place in Lucerne, Switzerland, in May of 2012, with a call for entries opening in May of 2011. Nominations will be announced in November of that year.
In a statement, organizers stated that the festival will also be ‘refocused on its original purpose – recognizing outstanding formats and programmes from the world of television entertainment.’ Current categories will be revised and simplified to better reflect industry trends.
Also, at the end of this month, festival director Rolf Probala will hand over his duties to Markus Helbling, managing director and co-manager of Rose d’Or AG since October 2010.
