Channel 4′s comedy and entertainment division has commissioned a new hour-long live show, 10 O’Clock Live, that will mix comedy with news commentary. Zeppotron will produce the weekly series, which will reunite stars David Mitchell, Lauren Laverne, Jimmy Carr and Charlie Brooker of the British broadcaster’s popular Alternative Election Night live comedy program. The show will run for 15 weeks and feature a range of guests including politicians, pundits, experts and analysts. It will be executive produced by Ben Caudell, Richard Osman, Zeppotron’s head of comedy Ruth Phillips and series producer Andrew Westwall. Channel 4′s news and current affairs department will also work on the show. Alternate Election Night scored a peak audience of 2.8 million viewers, besting competitor ITV’s coverage of the recent British elections. Around 44% of viewers were in the 16-to-34 demographic.
